The Process of Making The Gorgeous Printed Tissue Papers

If we go to any eating outlet then we always get fascinated towards the printed tissue paper we see with them. Either the tissue will simply have the company’s logo or in some cases, it will have a unique design to make it look beautiful. However, very few people know how that tissue paper is prepared in the factories. Don’t worry the process is not yuck or something rather an interesting one.
In many cases, tissue papers are made from the recycled paper pulp and have properties like basis weight, absorbency, bulk (specific volume), thickness (caliper), brightness, appearance, stretch and comfort which decides whether that particular tissue is a good one or not. Tissues with softness in the paper are primarily manufactured for various purposes like facial tissue, toilet tissue, paper towels, etc.
Step I
The very first step in the making of soft tissue paper includes the creation of paper pulp which eventually makes those gorgeous printed tissue paper. This paper pulp can be created from the recycled materials and sometimes from the wood fiber. Firstly the tree logs are created then they are again cut into small chip size pieces which later is grounded into fine flakes. These fine flakes then along with measured water are stirred together to make the required pulp. While the pulp is still in the tank some extra components are also mixed in it to strengthen, soften or give color to the tissue paper.
Step II
Once the pulp is ready as per according to the desired level then it is consciously and consistently poured across the width of the belt which is being driven by the huge drums which are heated by continuous steam. These belts move with a fast speed and are approx. 2-6 meters wide and are also made from a very high porous material. Due to the presence of pores on the belt, all the water slips away from it leaving a delicate chunk of fabric stuck to the belt.

The remaining process is continued in the next blog.
